CASE STUDIES

Market Entry & Strategy

Client: Latvian herbal extracts and health products company
Goal: Evaluate opportunities in China’s health & wellness market and build long-term local partnerships.
What we did: Conducted market research on China’s health and wellness sector, including functional beverages, supplements, and herbal products, focusing on competitive landscape, regulatory requirements, and consumer trends. Organised an initial business visit to meet multiple potential partners and selected relevant trade fairs for targeted networking. Prepared the groundwork for the next visit, which will include meetings with additional producers — including one of China’s largest functional beverage manufacturers (nationwide distribution, multi-factory capacity) — and discussions with the leadership of a key Chinese city to explore establishing a local production facility.
Result: The client gained a clear market entry roadmap, established first-level contacts with Chinese manufacturers, and identified investment and partnership opportunities for the next project phase.

Partner Search & Due Diligence

Client: Latvian trading company
Goal: Verify the authenticity of a Chinese supplier and their shipping insurance policy before finalising a deal.
What we did: After being approached by the Latvian buyer, conducted a detailed investigation in Hong Kong and Suzhou. Checked company registration, verified the supplier’s location through on-site confirmation, and cross-checked the insurance policy details with the issuing company. Discovered the supplier was not registered at the claimed industrial park and that the provided policy number was invalid. Coordinated with local legal advisors to prepare findings and advised the client on next steps.
Result: Prevented a potential fraud and significant financial loss, allowing the client to halt the deal before payment and focus on sourcing from verified suppliers.

Warning note: In international trade, even official-looking documents can be forged. On-site verification and independent policy checks are essential to avoid costly mistakes.

Business Visits & Trade Missions

Client: Latvian energy technology start-up
Goal: Identify reliable suppliers for battery and energy storage components in China.
What we did: Conducted due diligence on potential suppliers in advance to verify credibility, certifications, and production capacity. Organised a targeted business visit to China, combining tours of manufacturing facilities of different scales — from specialised niche plants to large high-volume factories. The program also included a visit to a major energy technology trade fair in Shenzhen, providing the client with an overview of the latest industry innovations and access to a wide network of potential suppliers. Arranged face-to-face meetings with shortlisted manufacturers to discuss technical specifications, pricing, and cooperation terms.
Result: The client built direct relationships with high-quality suppliers, gained a clear understanding of production capabilities, and narrowed the list to top candidates for the next procurement stage.

Cross-Cultural Communication & Training

Client: Latvian manufacturing company with Chinese owners
Goal: Improve communication and cooperation between local management and owners.
What we did: Delivered a tailored 2-day cross-cultural training for both the Latvian management team and the Chinese leadership. The program covered Chinese and Latvian business culture, communication styles, and decision-making processes, helping each side understand the other’s values, workplace norms, and expectations. Sessions used real-life scenarios from the company’s operations and encouraged open discussion to address existing challenges.
Result: Both management and owners reported smoother collaboration, improved mutual understanding, and faster decision-making in joint projects

Sourcing & Quality Control

Client: Baltic educational publisher
Goal: Develop and produce a STEAM learning kit to complement a newly published school textbook.
What we did: Identified and evaluated potential Chinese manufacturers with experience in educational products, sourced 5 certified factories, and performed detailed quality and safety checks. Selected the most suitable partner in China and worked closely with them to produce samples, make necessary adjustments, and complete the full EU certification process for child safety and product standards. All components were designed to align with the textbook’s curriculum requirements.
Result: The certified STEAM kit met all quality, safety, and functionality criteria. The first production batch was delivered on schedule, enabling the publisher to launch the kit alongside the textbook’s release.

Academic & Vocational Partnerships

Client: China Education and VET Alliance, Serbian education institutions, and businesses.
Goal: Build long-term cooperation between Chinese and Serbian vocational schools, universities, and industry.

What we did: Organised a two-day international event in Belgrade, Serbia under the framework of the China Education and VET Alliance, bringing together 25 delegates from China — representing VET schools, universities, and industry — with 27 representatives from Serbian VET institutions, universities, and businesses. Managed partner identification, invitations, program design, and facilitation of B2B and B2E (business-to-education) meetings, as well as cultural exchange activities.

Result: Five memoranda of understanding were signed, joint training programs were initiated, and companies began concrete discussions on internships and employment opportunities for students.
